In DC there is a special affinity for ski gear and winter sportswear, weird right. not a ski slope in 200 miles but, the North Face, Helly Hansen, Moncler, and now Stone Island are staples in most DC closets. Growing up here Ive had them all except for Stone Island, but after seeing their details and quality that may have to change soon. I first caught wind of the brand a few years back when they dropped a chameleon heat responsive color changing windbreaker and it was mind-blowing that no one around here had even heard of them.
