God Bless the Homeless
My favorite living Artist Banksy brings awareness to Homelessness in his latest Christmas mural in Birmingham. The reason Banksy is my favorite artist is because of his way to evoke emotion from simple stencils in placements that involve human involvement and all the while staying unknown to the public. His mysterious lurking around the art world intrigues as well as adds to the value of his Art. I’ve been following him for ten years plus and I don’t even know what he looks like. It’s genius to me.
The Artwork, the elusiveness, the wit of the simpleness, as well as the intricacies of the emotions he brings out of Society & The Art world. A graffiti legend that transcends spray paint from street level to the top of the Art world and in an astonishing way. In the past 5/7 years influencing Hip Hop Artists like Wale who bit off a Banksy concept for his latest album.
He’s influenced the way I look at Art and how I value artists and their works. It’s not always supposed to end up in a museum or hidden away by some rich Collector. Some art is meant to be felt and no matter if you’re a fan of banksy’s style or his political views but you always feel his art. That’s something most artists dream to achieve and he does it effortlessly.
