Drop Gems
GoonMilk message of the day via Nipsey Hussle!
One of the most important parts of running a brand is knowing that everything you do reflects your brand and the reputation of your brand. So when you have an authentic, organic, fan base that relates to your brand’s authenticity and then switch up it confuses the consumer. Being consistent and brand focused is key in growth and expanding to new consumers who may not know your previous work but if you are consistent there’s no question or confusion as to what your brand offers.
For example, with GoonMilk a lot of people know me for doing custom apparel but don’t really get what GoonMilk the brand is. Although I do a lot under the GoonMilk umbrella the brand is rooted in streetwear. The streets period, so when I do a photoshoot My influence is always keeping things authentically “street”. Staying true to the 40 ounce logo having photoshoots in Liquor stores, fashion shows in Beer distilleries, as well as including influences from the DC/MD area that my consumers relate to regarding my brand. There is an underlying argument that streetwear is dying out with the collaborations with higher end brands and their take on what streetwear is but to me streetwear will never die. There will always be a market for streetwear in cities like DC because there will always be people from our streets that need apparel that fits their price range but also sets them apart from the goofies geeking to wear designer but can’t really dress. Atleast that’s how I see it. If streetwear is dead so is fashion…
Nonetheless take heed to Nips gem of carrying yourself as a brand and stay authentic to that brand. Definitely a gem of game for those looking to grow in business.
